The Action Touch was sold in the late 1980s, after which Nikon took it off the market and no company ever made a similar camera. The Japanese concluded that nobody is intelligent enough to focus a camera manually. All the cheap underwater cameras introduced after the Action Touch were fixed focus underwater and came with lower quality lenses.
This is a substantially made quality camera by Nikon, and at the time thought of probably as more of an amateur gimic underwater snapper, when you hold it and see how it's made you soon change your mind. It's not light weight the switches and knobs are of robust make and don't forget Nikon made the Nikonos underwater cameras.
